Joining the team in January 2026, Paul McQuade has been appointed as Recruitment Manager for the D7 Business.
Middlesbrough born and now living in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, Paul brings over 20 years experience in recruitment, staffing and training having cut his teeth with Hays Montrose back in the early 2000's. Paul was Owner / Director of a specialist recruitment and training organisation for the Oil and Gas Sector for over 10 years, working with EPC Contractors, Manufacturers (notably Steel / Pipeline Production) and Oil/Gas Operators on a global scale, with Safety Management central to successful delivery.
Paul subsequently developed recruitment teams in London and Leeds within Facilities Management, before hopping client side to manage Talent Acquisition at the tech Giant FDM and the healthcare specialist Acacium group before returning to Agency recruitment at Futures Manufacturing in Leeds.
Now responsible for all Recruitment Activities at D7, Paul is thrilled to be back managing a great team and implementing new processes and technology into the D7 business.
"It's a fantastic opportunity to work with an established and highly respectable agency; one that already has the values, ethics and capability that most agencies strive for. The team of Jodi Johnson and Brian Cave - both IOSH Trained and hugely passionate about the industry - are perfoming at a really high level. The focus is Quality, not Quantity, and they work to exacting standards as you might expect when dealing with safety critical vacancies. I've been so impressed by their approach - they pre-screen every candidate over video or face to face and provide so much detail behind every CV. They spend a lot of time evaluating people's values and technical capabilities. I suppose my challenge is to make them even more effective - give them the tools and support to make their days even more effective. So we're looking at more advanced use of AI tools, greater social media engagement and promotional opportunities, better access to candidate data, an enhanced database and ongoing training to ensure that we remain ahead of the game in terms of recruitment best practice."
"We will continue our engagement with Ex Forces personnel - that is a really exciting prospect for 2026 as we hopefully secure our Silver Award on the Armed Forces Covenant."
