A week of fundraising for Maggie's Centre in Leeds

Having Spent some time at the amazing Maggie's centre in Leeds a few weeks ago, D7 Recruitment, in partnership with our good friends at Hunter Safety Group, embarked on the now infamous "Step Up Challenge". A week long event, promoting healthy living and raising essential funds for Maggie's Centre in Leeds.

Split into 8 teams of 6, the goal was to amass the most number of steps across a week of exercise.

D7 representatives scored hihgly - with Mia reaching a massive milestone of 125,000 steps across the week. Our former Consultant Brian Cave led the way with an extrodinary 275,913 steps in 7 days. Typical Ex Forces attitude - and typical of Brian. He does nothing by half!

We raised £465 over the seven days which takes us closer to our annual target for raising £3500 for Maggies this year. We are over the half way point and well on our way to smashing that target.

Maggie’s Centres are a network of charity-run centres located alongside NHS hospitals across the UK, providing free practical, emotional, and social support to people living with cancer, as well as their families and friends. Designed to offer a warm and welcoming environment away from the clinical setting of a hospital, the centres help people navigate the challenges that cancer can bring.

Their services include psychological support, benefits and financial guidance, nutrition and wellbeing programmes, exercise sessions, support groups, and opportunities for individuals to connect with others who understand their experiences. Everything they do is focused on helping people feel more informed, supported, and in control during what can be an incredibly difficult time.
