Goodbye Brian...

D7 are pleased (but a bit gutted!) to announce the departure of Brian Cave as he transitions from Health and Safety Recruitment Specialist to Health and Safety Support with our great friends at Hunter Safety Group.

Brian joined D7 as a veteran from the UK Armed Forces and he quickly adapted to a (very!) new working environment, bringing with him his enthusiasm, hard working spirit and fantastic communication skills. He quickly became a firm favourite with D7’s clients and candidates and supported dozens of HSE Professionals as they looked for new interim or permanent positions.

With an ambition to move into a HSE Advisory role himself, Brian began studying for his HSE Qualifications. He also played close attention to the clients we were working with, the candidates he was speaking to, and the projects that he was assigned to support. Over the past few months, Brian has been spending a few days per week on client sites, supporting some complex Manufacturing Construction projects for some of the UK’s biggest and most high-profile manufacturers.

His step counter didn’t know what had hit it!

And the outcome has been a permanent job offer as HSE Support, with a fast track into HSE Management.

Supporting veterans like Brian has always been one of D7’s primary missions. We are firm supporters of the Armed Services Covenant, and we take great pride in supporting people like Brian through Training, Advice, access to Work Experience opportunities, and encouragement.

Those core skills that veterans often possess – teamwork, resilience, adaptability, logical problem solving, communication, planning, flexibility, etc – align perfectly with the key requirements of HSE Manager or Support worker roles. Brian is a great example of someone harnessing their core skills and complementing them with industry-specific training. He is now well placed to begin a career in Health and Safety, and here at D7 we wish him every success for the future. He will be missed for sure. And the door is open if the step counter asks him to get back to an office job.
